"Casino War" was originally a children's game which later became popular in the casinos. There isn't much strategy involved in casino war - simply the ability to recognize which of two cards has a higher face value. |
- The game is normally played with 6 standard 52 card decks.
- All cards are ranked according to their poker value and Aces are the highest.
- The player and the dealer get one card each. If the player's card is better than the dealer's card, then the player wins even money.
- If the dealer's card is better than the player's card, the player loses.
- If both cards are of the same rank, the player has one of two options: to Surrender or to Go to War.
- If the player opts to Surrender, they lose half their original bet and the game finishes.
- If the player selects to Go to War, a bet equal to the value of their original will automatically be placed at the table.
- Three cards are then ‘burnt’ (dealt face down).
- Two further cards are dealt face up, one for the player and one for dealer.
- Whoever has the highest-ranked fourth card wins the War!
- The game can also be played without making a tie bet, but a player cannot make a tie bet alone.
- All suits of cards (hearts, spades, clubs and diamonds) are of equal ranking.
